Happiest Holidays to all!

There was certainly holiday cheer at the So Cal Flame Surfers holiday meeting at Pacific Art Glass on December 9th! We had around 35 SCFS members plus, Heather Trimlett was kind enough to join us and treat us to several demos! She shared her techniques for making a hollow bead using the Kim Osbin vessel tool, plus how to get your twisitie ends to line up. (something I certainly need practice on!) Heather will be teaching her techniques, including buttons, at The Mandrel in February.

Our raffle was stock full of goodies from several of our favorite vendors, including a Heather Trimlett beaded key chain and tons of glass and tools. Plus each member received a raku shard goodie bag. Please check out our sponsor page and check out their websites!

Bindy, our hospitality chairperson, did a fantastic job of organizing a cookie exchange and a delicious appetizer pot luck spread...no one left hungry!

Our next meeting wiill be on March 17th at Pacific Art Glass. The bead exchange theme will be “Green”. We’ll just leave that to your imagination! Rich “Santa Claus” will be demoing his marbles and we will also be playing a “Bead Toss” game, so bring your tools and some glas if you want to join in. It should be a lot of fun!
