Greetings Flame Surfer!

Isn’t it amazing that we are now in November! Crazy. The year has flown by once again. We are about to enter 2010! That year number always sounded like a movie title to me...but now I guess the movie is bumped to “2012”! What ever....anyway, we have a lot going on the next several weeks.

December 5th Holiday Meeting
The SCFS Holiday meeting is coming up early next month...December 5th at Pacific Art Glass. We are very excited this year to have an Extreme Oxygen Concentrator M15 as one of the many raffle prizes. Plus a very cool gift to every paying member, a warm & cozy winter pot luck, demos in blowing your own shards and miniature bottles and did I mentions LOTS of raffle prizes?? Please make you plans to join us! Meeting starts at the usual time, 10 am.

We will be collecting beads for Beads of Courage at the December meeting. We have become an important contributing group to BOC and would like to make this year bigger than ever! Anyone bringing at least 20 beads will be given a free raffle ticket. We will also be donating a portion of our raffle proceeds to Beads of Courage.

We will have extra torches set up for you to try blowing your own shards. Please bring your own safety glasses and glass if you would like to play

Our bead exchange will be "Winter Whites". The pot luck menu will include "warm & savory" treats. Please bring something to share.

Holiday Shows & Sales
The Whole Bead Show will host a show in San Diego on November 13th & 14th. For more info, click HERE. And while you’re in the San Diego area, our own Joyce Rooks will be hosting a home studio show and sale on Saturday, November 14th from 11 to 6 pm. She lives in Oceanside....maybe you can plan on both! Check out Joyce’s website HERE.

If you happen to be in the Bay area, BABE! will be the happening show up in Oakland. I will be up there, along with many other glass artist. This is a great show, with many classes as well. And it not that far from So Cal! Click HERE for info.

If you haven’t heard already, we are sorry to report that Glass Obsessions wil closing their doors as of December 1st. Phyllis is selling her inventory for excellent prices...and it’s going fast.
