Hello everyone!!

This is an exciting time of the year and I know everyone must be gearing up for the Holidays. Our Holiday gathering at Pacific Art Glass is coming up on the 9th and since I am in charge of the food situation I came up with something that I hope you will find fun. We will be having an Hors d'Oeuvre party! Just bring a plate of your favorite Hors d'Oeuvres to share and if you have time maybe you could photo copy the recipe and leave a stack next to your tray so others can make them for their next party. Having an Hors d'Oeuvre party is something that I have always wanted to have and this is the perfect opportunity. Who doesn't like finger food??

The next thing I thought would be fun is a cookie exchange. This is purely OPTIONAL and only if you want to participate. I know some may have more time than others so please don't feel bad if you are busy and can't do this. You can make as little as one dozen cookies or as many as 3 dozen, it is your choice. Bag up 6 cookies with the recipe attached and your name. For every bag of 6 cookies that you bring you will take home the same amount of bags.(Hopefully not your own unless you really like them! LOL) I have done this in the past and got the cute decorated cellophane bags, put the cookies in them, and then attached the recipe and my name with a ribbon to close up the bag. Heck, now you could even make up little cookie baskets to give as gifts to your friends and family with a variety of cookies and you only had to make one kind. Can't cook you say?? No problem, the grocery stores have some great bakery items and will do just fine.

Bead exchange theme is "Holiday" and bring beads for show & tell too. LOTS of goodies for the raffle and Heather Trimlett will demo. I hope to see all of you at the meeting and if you can't make it then I hope you have a Happy Holiday and a wonderful New Year.

Welcome to the new and improved So Cal Flame Surfers website. I figured with the new logo design, we needed a fresh new website design, so here it is! Hope you like it.

We just had our Sept 9th Quarterly meeting, and it went very well. We had a great turnout of people, great food, and some new faces. Several people showed up because they found our website!

A few announcements were made. On October 29th from 10-6, there is the L.A. Bead Show in Culver City. We need some volunteers to man the booth for the So Cal Flame Surfers. We will need 5-6 volunteers. Please contact beadsbydiane@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping out.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting on December 9th from 10 am to 2 pm. Heather Trimlett will be demo-ing, and the bead exchange will feature a holiday bead theme.

The raffle was a huge hit thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. We had some new sponsors from Winship and Brea Bead Works. The bead exchange challenged lots of people to make some lovely beads and marbles. There will be a much better and more thorough write up along with pictures of the meeting coming soon.
