Jujeebeads.comMARCH. Thank goodness spring is finally around the corner! After this treacherous So Cal winter we have gone through :)

glass obsessonsBesides being the first day of SPRING, March 21st is the SCFS first quarterly meeting! I hope you will join us at Glass Obsessions in Yorba Linda for our first 2009 meeting. As usual, the meeting will start at 10:00 am and is full of fun, informative club biz and activities. The demos will be a variety of boro glass beads form some of our SCFS members. And remember, even if you don't "do" boro, there are still tips and tricks that can be applied to your soft glass beads! www.glassobsessions.com

Hayley TsangThe bead exchange is Silver Glass beads. We hope that you have taken advantage of the Double Helix sampler you got from the holiday meeting last December. And hopefully, you picked up some techniques from our Guest artist, Hayley Tsang. Which by the way, we will have the beads Hayley made in our raffle this month. If you would like to be part of the bead exchange, bring a bead with in the theme, wrapped up and please include your biz card, or info.

We (the board) have decided to not have a food theme for the regular meetings and save that for the big holiday meetings. We will still have a pot luck, but it will be just that, pot luck. We will always provide a decent finger food, such as small sandwiches, beverages and paper goods, and we ask that you please bring a little something. Sides, salads, nuts, chips, veggies, sweets, these are always welcome goodies. We are not asking that you bring enough for 20 people, just a little something...which can be added to the table. We appreciate your participation in the pot lucks!

NEW BOARD MEMBERS! And you thought you were done with elections!
We posted a description of the board positions. Click here to find out what they are. We could always use more help. If you are interested in any position, please email me and we will put you on the list. Towards the middle of the month, we will have vote for the board. I will send out a reminder to check it out and cast your vote. We will announce the board next month and formally introduce at the June meeting which will be held on June 20th at The Mandrel.

We appreciate your support and participation in the voting process.

Mike CloseOn March 14th, Mike Close is sponsoring the 2nd annual Orange County Marble Show at the Wyndham Anahiem Park Hotel. For more info, check out the flyer or contact Mike. This is great show...whether or not you are in to marble, there is some awesome glass art to see!
