HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Its February..........and it's still 75°! Can't beat the weater in SoCal! Actually, I am now sitting in Tucson, getting ready for the Best Bead Show that starts tomorrow (Feb. 4th). But the weather is much the same, high 70's with a nice breeze...perfect weather for running around town to ALL the bead & gem shows. BUT, I am supposed to be writing about So Cal.... It's a new year and another new term for our club. We are still in need of some volunteers to be part of the board. We will be posting a list of the board positions along with a brief description on our website (in a week or two...). If there is any position you might have some interest in, please email me asap. judy@jujeebeads.com We meet 4 times a year and have 4 club meetings. Being part of the board requires a little of your time and commitment. If you have any questions, please email me. The more people we have on board creates more ideas and inspiration for the entire club, which benefits us all. It's a little time for a lot of people, but a lot of time for only a few, so please help out if you can. And we have fun!

Our first SCFS meeting of 2009 will be held at Glass Obsessions (GO) in Yorba Linda. If you have nver been to GO, Phyllis has a full hop shop set up, along with a good selection of glass and suppies. We are excited to have GO host our first meeting of the year and hope we will see lots of familiar and new faces in the crowd. The meeting will be Saturday, March 21st, starting at 10 am. More details to follow... www.glassobsessions.com Bead exchange will be silver glass beads. For those of you who attended the December meeting, each person received a Double Helix sampler and were treated to Hayley Tsang's informative demos using DH glass. We will also be raffling off the beads she created in those demos! I will be sending a mid-month newsletter with more info on the meeting.

FYI for those who are vendors and/or customers at the L. A Bead Society Bead Bazaar, they have cancelled the April show, but still plan on having the Fall show in October. Check out our website for meeing info and local classes, always lots going on! For now, enjoy the weather while it lasts and happy torching!
