Happy New Year!
We hope that the new year finds everyone healthy and
happy. And not too exhausted from the busy holidays!
Now its back to the norm...whatever
that may be to you!
Our December meeting was a HUGE success! Thanks to
all who joined us (over 50 in attendance!) Sharon Peters
was a delight to have as our guest artist, demoing not
just one, but four different beads. I know many of you
who went home and practiced your sculptural skills right
away! We had a TON of
raffle prizes, including a Paragon Blue Bird bead kiln
(generously donated by John @ PAG and Paragon Kilns)....which
LUCKY Linda Gillman took home....along with many other
prizes.
We sincerely thank all of our sponsors, including our
newest Mikes Brass for Glass and Via Murano. Be
sure to check out the sponsors
page on our website and please, give them your business!
And be sure to thank them for helping out the club!
We
asked members to bring beads for Beads of Courage and
I have to say, it was overwhelming the amount of beads
we were able to send off to BOC. We also sent a cash
donation of $250 ($150 from SCFS and $100 generously
donated from Sharon Peters) We will be doing this again
in 2008...more details to come.
There is a tutorial on the Beads of Courage website
for the butterfly bead Sharon Peters demonstrated during
the meeting. Check it out at www.beadsofcourage.net/art/ButterflyTutorial.pdf.
The bead she sculpted during the meeting was sent to
BOC as well.
Our first meeting of the year will be at Pacific Art
Glass on March 22nd, beginning the usual time of 10
am for social. We will let you know the bead exchange
theme and pot luck in the next letter. As always, you
can check the website for updates and info.

to Heidi, but now its MIA. If anyone has the light
or any info about it, please email Heidi immediately.
Much appreciated. dnhbond@aol.com
