BOCWhat are you doing next Saturday?? (July 10th) We will be hosting our 2nd Beads of Courage challenge at Pacific Art Glass starting at 9 am.  We will have 8 torches set up and we have begun a goal for 300 beads by the end of the year, which will include at least 50 purple hearts. Please make your plans to join us next Saturday. It is just  a few hours and we have a lot of fun. Wendy & Judy  (our hospitality goddesses) provide prizes, fun and light refreshments.  (you’re welcome to bring goodies if you like) This is a wonderful day of sharing and most importantly, a group effort to support a very important cause, encouragement for young, ailing children in need of support.

SkullGreat June meeting at The Mandrel!
We had a great turnout for our 2nd quarterly meeting on June 19th. We had several new comers, some even driving from as far as Ridgecrest! DeAnn Buchanon rocked the bead boat with her murrini demo of a skull. She had LOTS of her murrinis to show off (and sell!). You can see lots of DeAnne’s murrini’s as well as her Skull Murrini Tutorial on her Esty page. (photo of skull before De pulls it down)

Our 3rd quarter meeting will be held on September 18th at CBS (Coatings By Sandberg). We certainly hope to see more of our Orange County and San Diego dwelling friends! Don McKinneywill be our demo artist! (very excited about that!)Our bead theme is murrini beads. We hope this will entice you to try making your own murrini (hopefully you were at the June meeting) or use murrinis made by others. More details in the next two newsletter!

The Bead Society of San Diego County will hold their 11th annual bead show on August 7th & 8th at the Scottish Rite Center. Click HERE for more info and times. Plenty of parking and lots of great vendors….on of my FAVS!

For classes and other events, check out the SCFS website for more info! And be sure to check out our very own Featured Artist chairperson, Barbara Birbeck, as the newestFeatured Artist!
