Fueling The Passion

August 2012 Newsletter

I would like to start with a special thank you to Heather Trimlett for the wonderful demonstration at our June general meeting.

It was good to see so many of our So Cal Flame Surfers in Bellevue at the ISGB Gathering, our chapter was very well represented!   We heard great presentations, some of us took classes with amazing instructors, we saw new products from technical vendors, gorgeous beads at the bead bazaar and exhibits.  I was very pleased to have the opportunity to network with many members of other chapters, ISGB board members and regional directors.  All in all, it was a great learning experience.

I hope that amongst the travel, family, barbecues, company, work and this heat, you’ve had some time to make beautiful beads!  We have a very special general meeting on September 15th at Pacific Art Glass.  Our meeting will begin at 10:00 sharp and continue with the Beads of Courage Bead Challenge (read flyer below).  In the spirit of the BOC challenge, instead of a bead exchange we would like each member to bring five clean beads that will be used for the  BOC “Sponsor a Bead” fundraiser.  Additionally we would like to reintroduce the “pot-luck” to our meeting by asking people with the first letter of their last name “A-K” bring something sweet and “L-Z” bring something savory.

Peace,

Toni Tracy
President
